Our Story
Mikir Dar derived from two Amharic words. It signifies the scope and importance of a wise counsel in once life. We noticed a decline in the societal values that once defined our culture. The respect for elders, a cornerstone of our community, seemed to be fading. This realisation sparked a profound question: what can we do to revive these essential values? We began to reflect on how we could contribute to this change. We believed that by influencing a few children, We could help shape the future leaders and influencers of our society.
With a focus on reaching children, We recognised that animation would be the most effective medium. During the COVID-19 pandemic, We observed how the younger generation was consuming vast amounts of online content, much of which was lighthearted and entertaining rather than meaningful. This insight led us to fully embrace YouTube as a platform for delivering engaging and impactful stories that not only entertain but also instill important values. Through our work, we aim to inspire the next generation and foster a renewed appreciation for our cultural heritage.

Shewa Shanko
Shewa Shanko is a leader in global organizations and a mother of four, alongside her husband. Together, they have successfully led numerous projects over the years. Driven by her passion for children, Shewa founded an organization called Doxa. This creative company emerged from her observations of the need to shape the future generation through engaging storytelling and innovative approaches.
Tinsae Fekadu
Tinsae Fekadu is a filmmaker and podcaster with extensive experience in various creative projects over the years. With a background in film studies, he possesses a profound passion for storytelling and the creative industry. In his role as Creative Director, Tinsae leads the creative initiatives and collaborates with fellow creatives to bring innovative ideas to life.
